My name is Samuel Isaiah Wiser, I was born June 11th 1988, I am the youngest of three children. My brother, my sister and I are all three years apart almost exactly to the day. I was born on a leap year, so my older brother and sister share the 12th of June, I own the 11th. I have always had a keen interest for the arts or any kind form of creativity since I was a child. As a young kid I used to make things out of wood all the time with my “kid” wood tool kit. Upon entering high school I took an interest in taking art classes, and my passion for art took flight and it quickly became my life’s desire.
In high school I took ceramics and photography all four years and I further fell in love with art. Once I graduated high school, I began to paint acrylic on canvas and soon that became my new passion. When I entered College to further my studies in Interior Architecture, I took every ceramic and art history class available. I will graduate in June 2015 with my AA and will continue at a University, yet to be named.
When I make my art, be it ceramic, a painting, or capturing a moment in time through a glass lens, it is me expressing my visual ideas in a physical manner to provoke a positive response from my viewers. If I can make you speechless for even three seconds I’ve done my job. I feel like art has changed so many times throughout the millenniums that the phrase ”beauty is within the eye of the beholder” rings true in today’s modern art. Some people argue that it’s nothing more than dipping a brush in color slapping it on and doing it over again and switching colors now and then. There’s more to it than that. There is a lot of thinking that goes into my art. I like getting public views and opinions on my ideas before making them come to life. I like to make my art what people want, but in the end, I am the artist. I consider my art to be very well thought out, aside from the multiple hours that go into each painting, correcting, layering, evaluating, reimagining, and completing each canvas.
Aside from physical art, I also perform on the side as a part of fundraising events for multiple LGBT organizations in my local area. Instead of lip syncing to my music, I do Sign Language and dance together in an artistic performance. I also recently submitted a painting to be auctioned off to help raise money for the American Cancer Association’s event, Relay for Life, in Vancouver Washington. I have started working on another painting that will be donated to an upcoming fundraising auction. I currently reside in Vancouver Washington with my partner Tyler who is an active member in the Relay for Life event featuring as Annie Histamine. On my spare time when im not painting, i likes to play video games, go out with friends, or stay in and watch a good movie.
